  • Floss your teeth at least once a day (or more)

  • Follow the curve of each tooth to avoid causing damage to the gum tissue

Many people don’t know that cleaning your tongue should be as important a step as brushing and flossing. The same kinds of bacteria that accumulate on the teeth, are building up on your tongue as well. Below are some ways to make sure you’re keeping your tongue healthy and clean:

  • If you’re using a toothbrush to clean your tongue, put some toothpaste on the brush and use circular motions to brush the tongue
  • If you’re using floss to clean your tongue, wrap the ends of the floss around each forefinger and use the middle area of floss to scrape down the tongue
  • If you’re using a tongue scraper, hold the scraper with both hands and use the middle to gently scrape down the tongue

Please remember to rinse your mouth after you clean your tongue. This will wash away any remaining bacteria.
