If you have a gap between your teeth, a dental bridge may be the solution you’re looking for. A dental bridge is a prosthetic tooth that can literally “bridge the gap” between teeth by placing crowns on the teeth on either side of the gap (called abutment teeth) and anchoring a prosthetic tooth in between.
There are three common types of dental bridges, which are:
You will need to visit our office for two visits to have your dental bridge placed. During the first visit, the abutment teeth will be prepared to receive dental crowns. Once they have been prepared for crowns, Dr. Nora Balota will take a mold of the teeth to be used as a model for your dental bridge. A temporary bridge will be placed until your custom made bridge is ready.
Once the bridge has been created and sent to our office, it’s time for your second appointment. During this appointment, the temporary bridge will be removed and the permanent one will be cemented into your mouth.
At Balota Family Dentistry, it’s important to us that we develop a relationship with each of our valued patients. We put a strong emphasis on patient education and will thoroughly discuss your dental health and your treatment options with you before making any decisions. Everyone in our office wants to make sure you feel confident in the dental decisions you choose.
