Healthier Halloween Treats

Jack-o-lanternsHere at Balota Dentistry, we think Halloween is a lot of fun! However, it is the most sugary holiday of the year, and we want to make sure our patients are keeping their teeth protected from all that dangerous Halloween candy.

There are plenty of ways to fill trick-or-treat bags with non-candy items that are healthier but just as fun!

Healthier Halloween Treats

Below are a few non-candy ideas to fill your candy buckets:

  • Boxes of raisins
  • Mini pretzels
  • Mini granola bars
  • Bags of unpopped popcorn
  • Fruit leather or fruit snacks
  • Mini tubs of Play-Doh
  • Glow-sticks
  • Spider or skull rings
  • Vampire teeth
  • Stickers
  • Small cars or other toys
  • Whistles or noise-makers
  • Barrettes or hair clips
  • Crayons

Kids will love the creative treats and parents will be happy that there’s less sugar in their bags! Most of these options are even cheaper than a huge bag of candy, which also makes them easier on your pocketbook as well.

To schedule a post-Halloween dental cleaning and exam, please contact Balota Family Dentistry today. Our family dental office is located in Colorado Springs, CO.
